Pastor Tobi Adegboyega deportated from the UK
Dele Olawanle, who’s a lawyer for Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, set the record straight about his client not getting kicked out of the UK. Some folks have been spreading rumors that he’s facing the boot, but that’s not the case at all.
On his social media, which used to be Twitter but is now something else called X, Dele posted on a Tuesday that he couldn’t stop chuckling at these bogus reports. He pointed out that normally, only people who’ve done some really bad stuff get deported, and Pastor Adegboyega isn’t one of them. The guy’s been living in the UK for over two decades without so much as a parking ticket, and he’s done a bunch of good for the community. So, nope, no deportation drama for the Pastor.
The lawyer set the record straight that even though SPAC NATIONS had some trouble with the charity commission and went through the courts, Pastor Adegboyega never got slapped with any personal guilty charges. He called the whole mess “idiocy,” basically saying it’s because people don’t get the basics of immigration laws.
When folks started going nuts over the news and posting all sorts of stuff, the lawyer was like, “Whoa, hold up! Let’s not spread rumors, okay?” He really wants people to chill with the fake news.
And get this, Olawanle, the lawyer, was pretty bummed about how we all love to jump on someone’s bad luck. He’s especially worried about the African community and how fast we are to trash talk someone who’s making waves.
This guy’s been in Pastor Adegboyega’s corner the whole time, even when the High Court was dealing with SPAC NATIONS. He’s saying that all this drama about his client getting kicked out of the country is totally made up.
He concluded by saying that he wasn’t going to talk about it anymore, not even in private or in any official way.
The post says, “Man, my phone’s been blowing up with calls and texts since last night! I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw that Tobi Adegboyega might get kicked out of the UK.
“The newspaper that posted that is just clueless. I’ve been his lawyer, helping him with personal stuff and also with his ministry stuff. He’s not getting booted out of the country, that’s just basic immigration stuff that reporters should know.
“Deportation is for bad guys who’ve done bad things, and Tobi’s not one of those. Sure, there were some issues with SPAC NATIONS in the courts and with the people who check on charities, but he personally didn’t do anything wrong.
Tobi’s been living here for over 20 years without getting into any trouble with the law. He’s done a lot for the community here in the UK. He’s had his fair share of challenges, but he’s a champ, you know?
“I read some comments today and couldn’t believe how quick people are to spout off without knowing what’s really going on. It’s like they get a kick out of seeing someone fall, even if they’re a pastor or something.
“We’re all messed up as a society if we cheer for people to fail just because they’re not like us. I’ve seen it all, especially with Tobi.
“But, as his lawyer, I’ve got to say that the whole deportation thing is totally made up, and I’m not going to chat about it anymore, not in private and not in any official way either.”
STATEMENT BY TOBI ADEGBOYEGA’S ATTORNEY
I’ve been bombarded with phone calls and texts since last night, folks.
When I heard that Tobi Adegboyega might get booted from the UK, I couldn’t help but chuckle. The paper spreading this gossip had no idea what they were talking about. So here’s the deal, I’ve been handling Tobi’s legal stuff, and let me tell you, there’s nothing to this whole “deportation” shindig. It’s all a bunch of hot air!
