So, apparently, the big cheese of the Nigerian Police, IG Egbetokun, has had it up to here with some of his officers who just can’t seem to get it right on social media. He’s called in a whole bunch of them, 11 to be exact, because they keep breaking the rules like it’s nobody’s business. It’s like they’re playing a game of whack-a-mole with the policy, and they’re the moles popping up all over the place. Time for a little chat, eh?

The memo mentioned that the top cop, Inspector General Kayode Egbetokun, called the person in because they kept breaking the social media rules.

The Nigerian cops called in 11 officers for supposedly breaking the Force’s social media rules. This info was shared in a police message from February 19, 2025, by the folks in charge of Public Relations.

The boss, Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, is the one who told these officers to get summoned because they’ve been breaking the rules on social media too many times.

This message was sent to some big shots in the police force, like the Assistant Inspector General of Police Mobile Police Force and the top dogs in Makurdi, Benue State and Ilorin, Kwara State.

These officers got told to show up at the office of the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on February 21, 2025 at 8 in the morning sharp.

The ones who got the call to come in for questioning are: Provost Marshal 70 PMF, PC Bala, Provost Presscort, CPL Umar Yarima, SUPOL Apa Division Makurdi, CPL Ruth Agada, CSP ‘A’ Ilorin, CPL Lami Ayuba, CSP Admin DOPS Owerri, PPC Ogar Melvis, and PC Precious Іkpah.

Here’s what the message actually said, but in a way that’s easier to understand: “Hey, just letting you know that the big boss wants to talk to some people who’ve been ignoring the social media policy. Make sure they come to see the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 8 AM. The list of who’s in trouble is: PC Bala with ID 539261, CPL Umar Yarima with ID 526563, CPL Ruth Agada with ID 071045, CPL Lami Ayuba with ID 069809, PPC Ogar Melvis with ID 072636, and PC Precious Іkpah with ID 072836. This is super important, so don’t mess it up, okay?”
