Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, widely recognized as Basketmouth, has embarked on a new phase in his life nearly two years following the conclusion of his 12-year marriage to Elsie Okpocha.

On Thursday, Basketmouth posted a 13-second video on Instagram featuring himself alongside a woman named Victoria Eze, known as #mizvick, who appeared to be wearing an engagement ring.

He captioned the video, “About to step into the next chapter of my life,” which has generated considerable interest and speculation regarding his current relationship status.

However, a review of the tagged account by PUNCH Online revealed no corresponding post from the woman, whose biography describes her as a “Writer; TV Host; StoryTeller; Masterpiece; Work in Progress….. Simultaneously.”

Basketmouth, who publicly announced his separation from Elsie in December 2022, appears to be welcoming new beginnings.

The post from the father of three, originally from Abia State, has elicited various reactions from his followers on social media.

One user, #JohnnyJustCome, humorously speculated, “I can bet that the announcement is a promotion for either a show or something 😂😂.”

Another well-known comedian, #OkeBakassi, expressed support with, “Congratulations, bro. We are ready 🔥🔥.”

#YawNaija added, “Congrats Eze gburugburu🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥at last.”

In a more skeptical tone, #lifeofhunpiya remarked, “As the Master of Adverts that you are, I am skeptical about this post 🤔.”

Earlier reports from PUNCH indicated that Basketmouth celebrated Elsie’s 44th birthday in September but did not acknowledge their annual wedding anniversary, which typically occurs in November.

In his previous statement, Basketmouth shared, “As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation. After much deliberation, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage. As we move forward separately.”
