The Labour Party’s presidential candidate for 2023, Mr. Peter Obi, has refuted claims suggesting that Kenneth Okonkwo, one of his spokespersons who recently declared his departure from the party, was acting as an informant.
Okonkwo issued a statement on Sunday declaring his decision to terminate his political association with Peter Obi and to leave the party.
He articulated that his choice to depart was rooted in Obi’s inability to manage the internal turmoil within the party, further noting that Obi had demonstrated a lack of capability to uphold the people’s mandate.
“I have lost faith in Peter Obi’s ability to cultivate a party that can effectively challenge these kakistocrats and kleptocrats. Most importantly, he has shown that even with public support, he does not possess the means to safeguard the mandate,” Okonkwo remarked in a post on his X account.
